Welcome to Year 4 – Lambert Class

Hello and welcome to Lambert class.

I am Mrs Cowley and the Learning Support Assistants are Miss Blazi, Mrs Goodwin, Mrs Ziccardi and Miss McCurrach.

In Autumn 1, we will be learning about The Romans. The children will learn about why they wanted to come to Britain. How they changed Britain and different Roman Emperors. In Music, we follow KAPOW and will learn about motifs in a song called The Romans Are Coming. In DT, we will be learning about different fastenings and we will be sewing a pouch. In RE, children will be learning about how we can make the world a better place learning about the golden rule, the 10 commandments. In Science we will be learning about food chains.

In Autumn 2, our topic is Why live near Volcanoes? In Geography during the topic the children will learn about pros and cons of living near volcanoes. The effects of volcanic eruptions and about the layers of the Earth. In Science, we will be learning about electricity where the children will learn about mains power and battery power. The children will make their own circuits. In French, the children will be learning about different items of clothes.

Facts about Year 4 – Lambert

Natasha Lambert BEM, is a multi award-winning disabled sailor and adventurer.

Natasha lives in Cowes, Isle of Wight, the home of British Sailing. Despite being born with Quadraplegic cerebral palsy, Natasha is one of those individuals who is unwilling to accept the word “can’t”. This tenacity has enabled Natasha to achieve feats which most people would have considered impossible; from sailing the seas of Britain to scaling mountains, she is an unstoppable force! Despite this determination and single mindedness, she still remains very modest about her extraordinary achievements and would invariably consider others before herself.
