In Autumn 1, our History topic is the Stone Age- we will be learning about where the Stone Age fits on a timeline and how people lived and adapted their lives during this time. In DT, we will be designing and making light up information posters, using simple circuits. In Science, we will be exploring the properties of rocks and learning about how rocks are created. In Music, we are excited to welcome a specialist teacher from the Bedfordshire Music Hub for weekly ukulele lessons.
In Autumn 2, our Geography topic is London and the United Kingdom- we will be learning about where London and other major cities are situated. We will then explore the human and physical features found in London and compare them to another location in the UK. In Computing this half term we will be exploring databases, we will learn how to use and create a database. Our French unit this half term focuses on adjectives (colour and size), we will use this information to describe shapes and create our own images
Facts about Year 3 – Coleman
Bessie Coleman was an American aviator and the first Black woman to earn a pilot’s license. Because flying schools in the United States denied her entry, she taught herself French and moved to France, earning her licence from France’s well-known Caudron Brother’s School of Aviation in just seven months. Bessie was born on January 26, 1892, in Atlanta, Texas. She’s one of 13 children to Susan and George Coleman, who both worked as sharecroppers.
