Byrd - Year 4

Welcome to Byrd Class!

Our class is named after the American explorer, Richard Byrd, who is best known for his expeditions to Antarctica. Mrs Stott is our teacher and Mrs Newman will also be helping us in our classroom.

In Byrd Class, we are excited to learn about India, The Romans and our Extreme Earth and to develop skills in Art, Drama, Music and PE. We can’t wait to use some of the amazing rooms in the North Pole, like the Art Room, ICT Suite, Sports Barn and the Science Lab. This year, we will also learn to swim and go camping. We know that we are going to have an amazing year!

Interesting facts about Richard Byrd

Byrd claimed that his expeditions had been the first to reach both the North Pole and the South Pole by air. His claim to have reached the North Pole is disputed.
